Redesign and Content Optimization

Background
The Heritage College website was outdated, difficult to navigate, and not mobile- or accessibility-friendly. The project aimed to modernize it with a responsive, user-centered, and WCAG-compliant design.
Tools
TYPO3, HTML, CSS, Google Analytics, Chrome DevTools, Adobe Suite, Sketch, Microsoft Teams, WCAG 2.2 Guidelines
My Role
Led the website redesign (vendor coordination, information architecture, UI design, content migration, accessibility compliance, testing, training, and launch). Also ensured visual brand consistency across digital and print communications.
Content Audit & Cleanup
Reviewed 1,000+ pages, coordinated with 15+ departments, removed or merged 35% of pages, and rewrote key content for clarity and accessibility.
Information Architecture
Restructured navigation from 11 to 6 main categories, simplified page hierarchy (max 3 clicks), and designed sitemaps and user flows.
Wireframes & User Testing
Created low-fidelity wireframes for key pages, ran stakeholder testing, and integrated feedback into final layouts.
Content & Accessibility
Updated pages in TYPO3, applied WCAG standards, optimized SEO, and added a bilingual language switcher.
Analytics & Optimization
Set up Google Analytics dashboards to track engagement, then adjusted CTAs, links, and mobile scrolling based on real data.
Training & Support
Trained staff on the new CMS, provided ongoing technical support, and continue to maintain and optimize site content post-launch.
